Alina Sevostianova Yurii Yushchenko

Abstract

In today's difficult situation, due to the war, a significant budget deficit, an increase in the state debt, a decline in investment and business attractiveness, etc. Ukraine faces new challenges that require maximum efficiency to ensure the viability of the economy and a worthy place in the global system of relations. One of the main elements of ensuring overall efficiency is proper project management. In our case, we are not talking about one project, but a whole series of project portfolios. Also important is a purposeful adaptive approach, which takes into account all the advantages and disadvantages of a certain approach of analyzing these project portfolios. This is how we approach the importance of understanding the peculiarities of methodological approaches to the analysis of project portfolios. The purpose of publishing this article is to research different methods of project portfolio analysis and their advantages and disadvantages. We will also explore what factors need to be considered when choosing a method, and how to manage risk, interaction and coordination of projects within a portfolio. Among all the variety of methods, 7 main methods of analyzing project portfolios were analyzed in detail, namely:

  • SWOT analysis of the project portfolio
  • Method of weighted assessment.
  • Method of comparison with restrictions 100.
  • Hierarchical analysis method
  • Method of linear programming.
  • Multiplicative optimization method.

This article discussed various methods of project portfolio analysis that are used to assess performance and determine the best project portfolio management strategies. The main principles, advantages and disadvantages of each method were analyzed. The most effective method of analyzing project portfolios is the compilation method, taking into account the specific limitations of each case, which takes into account various factors, such as profitability, risks, terms, and others, and allows company managers to make decisions about the optimal composition of projects in the portfolio. It is important to note that each method has its advantages and disadvantages, so the choice of a particular method should depend on the specific situation and needs of the company. However, regardless of the method chosen, the analysis of project portfolios is an important tool for achieving success in project management
