Development of the strategy for environmental modernization of city transport

Abstract

The article examines the current state of the motor transport industry. It has been established that the state of war in Ukraine has a negative impact on the environment. Since the motor transport industry is currently entrusted with the great mission of providing the armed forces with everything they need and meeting the needs of the country's civilian population, air pollution has been pushed into the background. It has been proven that in the rating (GAHP), the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, took the fourth place in Europe in terms of the number of deaths due to poor ecology. The main consequence of burning fossil fuels is the emission of a large amount of harmful gases, which partly creates the effect of global warming and harms people's health. That is, currently there is a question of finding alternative types of fuel for cars. The electrification of transport and the spread of electric vehicles can not only ease our demand for fossil fuels, but also contribute to improving living conditions. Therefore, electric vehicles will become the main part of the future transport system. Only expanding the population with electric vehicles in a city without proper road connections and adequate charging and parking infrastructure will suppress the utility of using electric vehicles due to their limited driving range. It has been studied that before the war, the country paid a lot of attention to the issue of greening. In 2020, the Ukrainian market was flooded with ecological cars. Thus, almost 25,000 electric cars are registered in Ukraine by 2020. It has been established that almost all countries of the world pay attention to nature protection aspects. The largest share of ecological transport is used in Norway and Switzerland. It has been proven that popular models in Ukraine are Nissan, Renault and BMW with Fiat. It has been proven that improvement of the ecological state of Ukraine is possible through the modernization of the car fleet to electric transport. In the article, the project of the strategy of ecological modernization of urban transport is rearranged. The main goal and tasks are defined. The main expected results from the implementation of this project are presented. The decisive and final stage was the study of risks and determinants that will contribute to obstacles in the promotion of this strategy.
