Logistics of functioning of multimodal transportation

Oleksii Chupailenko М. Bilokur R. Polishchuk Yurii Kolesnyk

Abstract

This article shows that the effective functioning of mixed transportation involving several types of transport is related to the action of many factors: the location of cargo owners, the use of vehicles, properties of cargo, accepted delivery schemes, etc. On the other hand, competitiveness is manifested in the interaction of transport services market subjects – carriers, shippers and consignees. It can be determined by comparing different types of transport, therefore competitiveness is a relative concept, clearly linked to the transport market and transportation time. The object of the research is the functioning processes of mixed transportation with the participation of several types of transport. The purpose of the work is to build a logistics organization of the multimodal transportation system. Research methods – development of mathematical models and algorithms for their implementation. Development of a cybernetic model for the formation and selection of the optimal transport and technological system of cargo delivery The problems of the interaction of modes of transport are part of the global problem of the logistics chain of movement of goods from the producer to the consumer. At the same time, the factors that determine the advantages of each type of transport should be taken into account – both obvious by the technology of cargo delivery, and related to the characteristics of the cargo .In this case, it is especially important to achieve the optimal ratio of costs for the implementation of effective technology of interaction between types of transport and the quality of the service provided. It is obvious that the cargo owner is interested in the minimum delivery terms, the maximum safety of the cargo, the convenience of accepting the cargo for transportation, and the possibility of reliable information support. Therefore, the improvement of cargo transportation technology with the participation of several types of transport should be based on the requests and needs of the cargo owner.
